Theory & Tools
Learn theory or find tools for simulating vehicles
Simulate Vehicles is a resource for learning about vehicle simulation, or to find tools that fulfill your simulation needs, open-source or commercial. Being applicable to both engineering and game development, we strive to answer the questions:
- How do I simulate a car/airplane/rocket etc.?
- What tools are available to simulate my type of vehicle or vehicle component?
With ‘simulation’ we mean the mimicking of movement or operation for existing or proposed vehicles. Typical use-cases for vehicle simulation could be:
- Simulate dynamics of vehicles for validation of control features.
- Simulation of realistic vehicles in game design.
- Simulate vehicle component behavior in Computer Aided Engineering (CAE).
